Joe Bohon appointed to Brazosport College Board of Regents

LAKE JACKSON — Brazosport College is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Bohon to the school’s Board of Regents.

Bohon was sworn in at the January Board of Regents meeting.

Bohon is the Senior Site Manufacturing Director for Dow’s Texas Operations, where he leads initiatives focused on site strategy, sustainability, operational excellence and employee development. Since joining Dow in 2000, Bohon has served in a variety of manufacturing leadership roles across multiple businesses, building a strong track record of technical expertise and people‑centered leadership.

A life‑long resident of Brazoria County and proud 1997 graduate of Brazosport High School, Bohon went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He remains deeply engaged in regional industry efforts, serving on the Executive Committee for the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council (BCPC) and chairing its Workforce Development Committee. He is also a board member of the Brazosport Water Supply Corporation and an active member of the Brazoria County Economic Alliance.

“It is a great honor to join the Board of Regents,” Bohon said. “I am eager to contribute to advancing educational opportunities that strengthen our community and drive positive change.”

Bohon’s connection to the University of Texas continues through his role as a Lifetime Member of the Texas Exes Association and as President of the Brazoria County Texas Exes Chapter. He also represents Dow as the University of Texas Champion. In 2025, Bohon was inducted into the Brazosport ISD Wall of Fame in recognition of his leadership, career achievements, and dedication to giving back to the community.

Bohon enjoys spending quality time with his wife Stephanie and their three boys — Vincent, Reid, and James. He enjoys being outdoors, coaching youth sports and staying actively involved in community organizations and service efforts that make a positive impact locally.

Bohon takes over for Ron Barksdale, who stepped down from the board after serving the College since 2019.
