Denise DeLaune, currently global operations director for Operational Excellence and Leveraged Services has accepted the role as vice president of Operations USGC and site director Dow Texas Operations. Denise will transition into the role over the next few months and will continue to report to John Sampson, sr. vice president Operations. Denise will re-locate to Lake Jackson, TX.
Denise began her career in 1998 as an engineer in the Acrolein plant at St. Charles Operations. In 2003, she moved to Plaquemine as operations leader for the Polyglycols and Glycol Ethers businesses. Later, she became the global EH&S business operations leader for several businesses and production leader for Polyglycols at SCO.
In 2011, Denise relocated to Freeport to serve as production leader for Epoxy 1, Epoxy 4 and the Polyglycols Market Development plant. In 2014, she became responsible care leader for the Houston Hub including Deer Park, La Porte, Bayport and later Texas City. In 2016, she relocated to Germany and took responsibility as the Hydrocarbons production leader in Böhlen, Germany and site director of the Böhlen and Teutschenthal sites. In 2020, she became the Senior Site Director for St. Charles Operations.
Denise graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in chemical engineering. She is a recipient of the Manufacturing Institute’s Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) Award, sits on the Board of Governors for the Manufacturing Leadership Council, and is the NA WIN Co-Chair. She is a certified Six Sigma green belt project leader and served previously on the Louisiana Chemical Association Board.
