Alvin College has received accreditation for two new degree programs from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The college will now move forward with offering Associate of Applied Science Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Sales and an Applied Science Degree in Integrated Technology. Classes are set to begin in Fall 2026.
“At Alvin College, our reason for being is to provide opportunities for our students to complete programs of study that lead to great careers,” President Robert J. Exley said. “Both degree programs were designed in collaboration with local industry leaders. We are thankful for their assistance and guidance to assure that what our students learn is directly connected to the jobs of today and tomorrow.”
The college Board of Regents approved the creation of the two degrees in February. The programs were created in collaboration with professionals in their respective industries. The regional job outlook for both degree plans and the certificate programs is significantly higher than the national average.
The Marketing, Advertising and Sales degree will prepare students for careers in a variety of fields with training in public relations, e-commerce, digital advertising, sales and more.
The Integrated Technologies degree was designed to meet the high demand for workers in the Information Technology field. The degree will focus on IT infrastructure, network administration, software development, data security, programming and more.
